Lanell Uvell Holley was born in Houston on April 3, 1964, to Vermell Holley. She was raised by Vermell and Prentis Howard. Lanell attended Jessie H. Jones High School. She fast forwarded to a career path which she truly enjoyed which was taking care of seniors. Lanell set her sights on becoming a private caregiver. With over 45 years of experience she established her own business, LH Caring Angels. Taking care of seniors was her greatest joy. Her loving personality and caring ways brought her many clients who adored her.
Lanell devoted her life to caring for her wonderful children, grandson, and family whom she deeply loved. Her captivating smile and energetic personality illuminated any space she entered. She loved music, traveling, dancing, singing in the church and spending time with her husband and family.
Legacy and Remembrance
Lanell's life was marked by love, joy, and service. On August 20, 2024, Lanell Uvell Holley Waller transitioned from earth to glory. "For now, I am ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love His appearing." II Timothy 4:6-8
Lanell is proceeded in death by her mother, Vermell Howard: father, Prentis Howard: brother, Elmer Hardy, Jr.; sister, Charnell Howard.
Lanell is survived by her husband, Eugene Waller, Jr., her children, Xavier P. Holley and Nicholas J. Johnson III; grandson, Xavier P. Holley, Jr.; sisters, Angela and Neshell Howard; Nephews, Phillip Howard, William Bennet, Jr., Prentis Howard and Tristan Smith; Nieces, Ashley Bennett, Andrea Bennett and Chardell Howard and many extended family members and friends. Though her time with us was short, her memory will be cherished forever.
