Obituary

LeDell William Clay, Jr (Tiny) went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2024. LeDell was born in Chicago, IL on March 23, 1961, to the late Leone Smith and LeDell William Clay, Sr.

His parents moved to California when he was a toddler. At six years old he moved to Winnsboro, LA to live with his late aunt Willie Mae Clay-Bolden. There he resided until college. Upon leaving college he moved back to California, where he worked for the City of Berkley.

He married Katrina Hill and of that union had two children KaTrina & Marcelus Clay. In January of 1996 he moved to New Orleans, LA where he would meet his wife of 27 years Terri Clay. From that union a son Zavier William Clay was born. He also became father to Corey & Kevin Pierce.

LeDell worked in the Petro Chemical industry for over 27 years. His career started out as a cook for an Offshore company. Upon seeing his size, a Superintendent for the company he worked for asked him if he wanted to do something different and so his career as a Rigger began.

He worked for many companies and built a solid reputation for one of the best in the industry. Everyone knew if (Tiny) the nickname he was given because of his massive size was on the job, it would be done right. If anyone had work and the pay was good, LeDell was there.

LeDell, hobbies were cooking, fishing, cruising, and sports. (He used to say he could barbecue everything on a pig but onk, and a cow but moo). He deemed himself as a master fisherman and loved catching white bass, and croppie fish. He and Terri also loved looking at model homes and going to casinos.

LeDell loved spending time with his grandchildren, and everyone knew how much he Loved his wife Terri Clay as he would often call her.

LeDell is survived by his wife of 27 years, Terri D. Clay. Five children, KaTrina, Marcelus, and Zavier Clay. Corey & Kevin Pierce. Seven grandchildren, Two daughter in laws, Mitzy Clay, Shanderika Pierce. Two sisters, Janica & Sara Clay. One stepbrother, Jermaine Walker.

A mother-in-law, sisters and brother in laws and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
