Lloyd L.
Ellis, Jr.
Jan 5, 1971 — Sep 4, 2024
When a person dies, everything written about them will include the date they were born and the date they died. Those dates aren't really that important. What matters most is the little dash between the dates. That small, seemly insignificant little mark represents the time between birth and death. The dash represents all the time they spent alive on this earth and only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.
Lloyd Ellis, Jr. was born January 5, 1971, in Houston, Texas to Carolyn Ellis and the late Lloyd L Ellis, Sr. He was raised in Houston and graduated in 1989 from Ross Sterling High School; upon graduation he joined the U.S. Army and after graduation from Boot Camp he was stationed in Germany for three years. When he returned to Houston, he attended Houston Community College and completed his Associate's in Criminal Justice.
In the fall of 2006 Lloyd met Latasha Micheaux and they were married April 28, 2007, and from this marriage he obtained two bonus sons Korendez and Kortez Jackson. On October 8, 2009, he was blessed with his son Israel Ellis to whom he was a doting father. He and Israel were inseparable, if you saw one, you saw the other. Lloyd was a very hands-on father encouraging the boys in school and sports. He loved his family and did whatever he could for them. The role of fatherhood was his greatest joy. Although Lloyd and Latasha divorced in 2015, they remained loving, caring co-parents and best friends. Latasha was Lloyd's number one advocate.
One of Lloyd's gifts was that of a listener, he was a man of few words. He was a willing compassionate caregiver. He always put others first and regardless of the situation he never judged anyone.
Lloyd was a member of South Union Missionary Baptist Church.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, September 4, 2024 God wrapped His arms around Lloyd and took him home. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd L Ellis, Sr.
He leaves to celebrate his life: Mother, Carolyn Ellis (Cindy), Son, Israel Ellis, Brother, Tommie (Tobias) Ellis (LaTraya (Kefira)). Also, Latasha Micheaux-Nwankwo and sons Korendez and Kortez, granddaughter Kanara Jackson. Aunt, D'Anderia Morris (William), Uncle, Lloyd Guillory. Forever in-laws Larry and Annette Micheaux, sister in-law Latoya Micheaux-Giles (Edward), brother in-law Joshua Micheaux, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
