On Sunday May 5, 2024 Lorenzo Hines aka (BaBa) was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
Lorenzo Hines was born on July 20, 1948 in a rural estate location on the Hines family Homestead in Coldspring, TX to Ocie Hines, Sr. and Henrietta Gray Hines. The family moved to Houston in the early 1950's.
At a early age Lorenzo went to live with his aunt and uncle in Galveston, TX where he attended Galveston ISD. Later he move back to Houston with his parents and siblings. He attended, B.C. Elmore Jr. and Senior High School.
He was known to be extremely outgoing in his younger days love to dance and play pool. BaBa accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Later in life he began a deep Spiritual connection through pray and bible study. He found joy and peace in sharing the word of God. Lorenzo was a truck driver by trade driving over the road for years and later worked for the City of Houston in their Public Works and Engineering Department. He was an excellent cook and love to barbecue.
Lorenzo was preceded by his parents Ocie Hines Sr. and Henrietta Hines, brothers: Ocie Hines Jr. Cornell Hines Sr. and Wilbert Gorings. Sister, Carolyn Hines Searcy. Grandsons: Kelvaughn Deauvearo and Jamarion Surgers.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Bogany, two daughters, Celita Deauvearo, Pam Wilson. 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. sister: Vernita Hines Thomas (James), brothers: Kenneth W. Hines (Dorothy), Steven E. Hines (Sandra) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
