Louise
Destin-Johnson
Sep 24, 1946 — Nov 14, 2024
Louise was born in Morrow, Louisiana, on September 24, 1946 to Arthur Destin, Sr. and Luetter Anderson Destin.
As a kid, her parents and siblings relocated to Crosby, Texas where she attended elementary, junior high and ultimately graduated in 1965, from Charles R. Drew High School. She continued her education and enrolled in college where she studied and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Texas Southern University, in Houston, Texas.
Louise joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she accepted Christ at an early age. She later moved to Houston and joined Saint Agnes Missionary Baptist Church until she moved to Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Rev. Danny Davis. She served faithfully as a deaconess until she entered eternal life.
Louise met the love of her life, Jack Everett Johnson, Jr., while they were both attending college at Texas Southern University. Their day started with him walking her to class every morning, during the summer. On April 22nd of 1967, they were married and enjoyed life as a loving, devoted, Christian couple for 57 years. During their union two sons were born, Everett McKinley Johnson and Adrian Andre Johnson.
Louise taught second grade in Crosby Independent School District until she retired with over 30 years of service. Throughout the years, she taught Bible and Sunday school and thoroughly enjoyed sharing her teaching knowledge and educational supplies with her family, church members and friends. She truly cherished the time she served on the Scholarship committee at Jordan Grove.
Louise Johnson, known to family and friends as "Sister Johnson, Lou Lou, Aunt Louise, Weezy, Weezy Cakes or simply, Louise" entered into God's Heavenly Gates on November 14, 2024 at Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; maternal grandparents: Leonard and Ealer Anderson; paternal grandparents: Prosper and Celestine Destin; parents: Arthur Sr. and Luetter Destin; three brothers: Robert Clarence Destin, Sr., Arthur Destin, Jr., Paul Destin, Sr.; four sisters: Addie Pearl Destin, Ealer Johnson, Emma Jean Reed, Willie Davis.
