Maggie L. Powell was born on September 20, 1944. She was affectionately known as 'Mag.' Maggie was born at Cleveland, Ohio to the late Mary "Canady" Thaxton and Green O. Thaxton II. great. great grandsons
Maggie peacefully departed her life on January 10, 2026 at the Memorial Hermann Health System at Houston Texas. Maggie's immediate family members surrounded her in the ICU. Maggie had a family that loved her and cared for her tremendously.
Maggie grew up in Washington, D.C. She graduated from McKinley Technology High School at Washington DC and graduated on June 4, 1964.
Maggie later relocated to Houston, Texas. she found the job that she loved after at the Veteran Administration Hospital at Houston. After she received her Bachelor of Art degree she found employment as a Pharmacist Technician, She was employed their until she retired July 31, 2000, after 26 years of dedicated and devoted service.
She found her new church home, New Faith Bapatist.
Church. She attended New Faith for years until she moved to a new location. Maggie united in holy matrimony to Jackie Powell on April 4, 1994 at New Faith Baptist church at Houston, Texas. . Their were no children born to this union. She gained a son-in-law from their union, David Powell,
