Malcolm
Jones
Apr 8, 1942 — Apr 16, 2024
Malcolm Jones was born in Kilgore, Texas on April 8, 1942 to Lena Mae and James Roy Jones. Malcolm was the only boy amongst his sibling group. Malcolm became a well-known basketball and football athlete in his school. Malcolm served his country as a U.S. Navy soldier and came back home to marry and have two sons, Erick and Malcolm Jr. (d. 2013). After his divorce, he later had a daughter, Charissa, which gave him a total of three children. Malcolm was a huge sports fan and up until he was too sick to, would always ask, "How them Coogs?" Malcolm enjoyed traveling to football games until he could do it no longer. Malcolm held a variety of jobs, but the most fulfilling was his last, as a staffing manager, helping men get into the labor force. Malcolm's last job allowed him to help men gain stability just as he had found through his own journey.
Malcolm loved having a good time which included jamming to the blues, dancing, barbecuing, eating oxtails, and having a drink in his hand with a smile. When Malcolm stepped out, he was dressed to the 9's and always "had it going on". Malcolm provided for his relatives by making sure they were alright, was a protective brother to his sisters, and always showed love to his nieces and nephews who knew him as "Uncle Mac". Malcom was a man of pride, he reflected on his life prior to his passing, and accepted that the time would draw near where he would transition to another place.
Malcolm is preceded in death by his parents, two siblings, and one son. He leaves to mourn his memory, his children, Erick Jones (Felicia) and Charissa Davis (Sean), seven grandchildren: Erick Jones Jr., Chelsey Jones, Morgan Jones, Christopher Jones, Matthew Jones, Jase Davis, and Cayde Davis. Malcolm also leaves to mourn three sisters (Annie Ruth, Sharon, and Sheila), dear family friend Lois, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives as well as friends near and far.
