Markeon "Ashley" Stevens was born October 29, 1992, in Flint, Michigan.  She was the daughter of JaPaula Kemp-Spady and Keonja (Keon) Stevens. JaPaula and Ashley migrated from Flint, Michigan to Houston, Texas where they resided at the time of Ashley's transition. Ashley had one child, Miles Anthony Hopkins who was the center of her heart.

Ashley graduated from Elkins High School in Missouri City, Texas and after graduation returned to Flint, MI to attend Mott Community College. During her time at community college she was also on a journey of self-discovery. She found that she had a passion for caring for the elderly and began working as a home health assistant for a short time. This passion stemmed from her dedication to the caregiving of her grandparents and other family members. Ashley also believed in always presenting your best self and was excellent hair and make-up artist. She always made herself available to help with the hair and makeup of all of her friends and family members. We will miss her making us all look beautiful.

Ashley later returned to the Houston area where she attended Champions School of Real Estate and 1st Class Medical Learning Center where she earned certifications. After finishing her medical training, she was hired on at Chi St. Luke's Hospital where she worked for over a year as a lab technician and phlebotomist. At the time of her passing she was an employee of LabCorp.

Although Ashley lived in the Houston area, she always made great effort to close the distance with her family and loved ones that lived in various states.  She stayed in close contact and communication with everyone and was so full of life and full of love. Ashley had a heart full of compassion and was sweetest person on the planet.

One of her greatest achievements was her relationship with God.  She had developed a spiritual intimacy with God and spent much of her time studying the bible and engaging in meaningful in- depth conversations about the teachings of the bible.  It brings great comfort to know that we will see her again.

She leaves to cherish her son Miles whom she loved very much; her mother JaPaula (Dru) Spady of Missouri City, Texas; father Keon Stevens of Flint, Michigan; sisters JaQuoya Jackson and Tiffany Stevens of Flint, Michigan; sister Keonna Stevens of Glendale, Arizona; twin brothers Jalen and Jared Stevens of Lancaster, California.

Ashley was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents W.T. Stevens and Blanche Stevens and her paternal uncle Barry Stevens; her maternal grandmother Linda Kemp; her maternal uncle Richard Taushe Kemp and great uncles Howard Barker and Terry Barker.
