Martha Louise (Price) Atkinson

Martha Louise Price was born on March 7 ,1935 in Mexia, Texas to Loray Price Bradley. She had one sibling an older brother, Milton Price, who preceded her in death.

She moved to Houston, Texas to attend Texas Southern University. She would meet Robert W. Atkinson, Sr. who she later married. This union was blessed with three beautiful daughters: Daphine Marie, Diann Michele, and Olivia Rae.

At an early age she devoted her life to Christ. She joined Jones Memorial United Methodist Church with her young children an remained a faithful member until her death. She was involved in several ministries. Most recent, Jones Memorial Area Seniors (JMAS).

Her career included MD Anderson and the VA Hospital as a laboratory technician. Ater her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was also an enthusiastic sports fan.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Daughters: Daphine Atkinson, Diann Atkinson-Bowden (Willie), and Olivia Atkinson. Step-son Robert W. Atkinson Jr. Grandchildren: Christopher Mitchell (Felisha), Darius Thomas, and Sade’ Bowden. Great Grandchildren: Khamari Thomas-Mitchell, Camren Mitchell, Adrianna Thomas, Carsen Mitchell (due October 2026) and Mathew Huelett. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that love her dearly.
