Mary was born in Beaumont, Texas to Roland and Eula Guillory on August 16, 1949. She attended public school in Orange, Texas. Mary attended Texas Southern University and earned a B.S degree in Elementary Education. She taught for more than 30 years for the Houston Independent School District.

In 1978 Mary met and married Clarence Taylor Sr. with whom she had two children. Mary was an avid world traveler who enjoyed seeing new places with her daughter. They visited places such as Japan, Great Britain, Canada, Europe, the Mediterranean, and Las Vegas.

Mary entered eternal rest on December 26, 2023. She is preceded in death by her father and mother Roland Guillory and Eula Guillory as well as her brother William Guillory.

Mary is survived by her husband Clarence Taylor Sr., her daughter Reagan Taylor, her son Clarence Taylor II, Grand Daughter Carrington Taylor, along with her siblings Rose Crawford, Inetta Mosley, Barbara Thomas (Donny Thomas), Clarissa Conner (Clyde Conner), Roland Guillory (Gloria Guillory) and a host of nieces and nephews.
