Michael Wayne
Williams Sr
Nov 26, 1961 — Jan 7, 2025
Michael Wayne Williams was born November 26, 1961 to Daisy and M. L. Williams.
He was the youngest of four children.
Growing up the baby of the family, Wayne was not a "Mama's boy" but more of a
"Daddy's boy". He was always curious and when he was old enough, he would follow his
Dad and watch and learn as his Dad repaired things at home. He learned to repair
plumbing, electrical problems, carpentry and even work on cars. When his Dad would go
help his friends, Wayne was requested to accompany his Dad because he always had
suggestions and ideas on how to fix things. He became known as "Mr. Fix It".
Wayne attended Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church growing up. He was baptized
at an early age by Rev. D. Leon Everett II. He participated in many youth and
young adult activities at church.
Wayne was educated in the Houston Independent School District. He attended
Sunny Side Elementary School, Crispus Attucks Middle School and graduated from
Evan E. Worthing Senior High School. He subsequently attended Prairie View A & M
University where he graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree, Cum Laude.
He was accepted to dental school at the University of Texas Health Houston School of
Dentistry. He completed three of four years and never graduated.
He worked for Amoco Oil Company and BP Oil Company for 26 years and retired in
2016 from Marathon Oil Company.
Wayne married Elaine Jones in 1986. To this union two children were born--
Laniece Williams and Michael W. Williams Jr.
Wayne was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by two
children Laniece Williams and Michael W. Williams Jr., two brothers
Anthony K. Williams Sr. (Marilyn) and Shedrick Williams (Beverly),
one sister Dr. Gwendolyn A. Williams (Randall Hollimon Sr.), two granddaughters,
one maternal Aunt-Dorothea Heard, five nephews and a host of relatives and
