Obituary

Milton Wayne Haper was born on March 12th, 1952, to Cleotha "Sam" Harper and Ola Mae (Thorn)
Harper. Milton was the oldest of five children and was known as the prankster. His mother later married
Rev. C.L. Miller who Milton loved as a Father. Milton accepted God and was baptized at Riceville Mount
Olive Church where he was a lifetime member. He attended and graduated from Sterling High School.
Milton went on to be drafted by the army during the Vietnam war and served with excellence until he
was discharged. When he came home after being discharged his love for mechanics led him to a career
as a mechanical engineer where he worked on cars to large engines until he took a medical leave.
He would often perform pranks on his siblings and later his children, nieces, and nephews. Milton was
always a source of fun and laughter. He would whip out his harmonica at any given moment to play and
dance. Milton was creative, artistic and a natural when it came to mechanics. You would often find him
fixing a car whether he was at work or at home. You could always count on him to know exactly what
was wrong with anything with an engine just from the sound. The love for cars started in childhood
where he would build his own cars and motorcycles. He worked on projects fixing and building
motorcycles and cars until his illness prevented him from working.
Milton loved not only cars, but he loved his family and would do anything he could to make life easier
and fun. He is preceded in death by his Mother Ola Mae Harris, Father Cleotha Harper, Father Rev. C.L.
Miller, Sister Diane Bailey, daughter Milshawn Harper. His legacy will continue with his children: Michelle
Williams, Deirdre Price, Milton Whiting, Ellenar Harper. Siblings: Belinda Washington, Gloria Miller, and
Calvin Miller. Milton also has 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews,
aunts and uncles who will all honor the life of Milton Harper.
