Mineola Woolridge was a devoted mother, grandmother, and woman of faith who peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication.
Mineola was baptized as a young girl at Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member throughout her life. Her unwavering belief in God shaped her character and guided her journey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Minnie Mae Woolridge; two sons, William Sylvester Young and Timothy James Woolridge; and twelve siblings.
She will be forever remembered by her beloved children: Jina Maria Woolridge, DeLester Ray Woolridge, Jeffery Wayne Woolridge, Reginald & Nadia Woolridge. Her love and influence live on through her grandchildren: Antoinette Monique Woolridge, Anthony Woolridge, Annette Woolridge, Alicia Mineola Woolridge, LaTasha Woolridge, Elijah Young, Jessica Lunsford, Kristy Lunsford, Luke Lunsford, and Vasha Williams; as well as 25 great-grandchildren, including the late Kristopher Lunsford-Barrett, 7 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mineola pursued her education at Blackshear Elementary and James D. Ryan Junior High, later graduating with pride from Jack Yates High School, Class of 1956. She continued her studies at Los Angeles Community College, preparing for a long and impactful career in healthcare.
She faithfully served as a Dietitian Clerk at Ben Taub General Hospital for 32 years, where she was known for her professionalism, compassion, and dedication. Her commitment earned her numerous awards and commendations over the years.
Mineola's life was marked by deep love for her family, a strong work ethic, and a steadfast commitment to her faith. Her presence, wisdom, and laughter will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her children.
