Monte Carlo
Jackson
Jan 21, 1957 — Jul 20, 2024
In the heart of Shreveport, Louisiana, on a crisp January 21, 1957, Mr. Monte Carlo Jackson entered the world, the first son of Mr. Edgar James and Mrs. Evelyn Louise Jackson. From the very beginning, Monte's life was steeped in faith, his earliest days shaped by the teachings of The Church of the Living God PGT #17.
As he grew, Monte's talents on the basketball court became evident during his education in Caddo Parish Public Schools. Shreveport's streets echoed with the sound of his dribbling, his passion for sports shining through every game he played.
Upon graduating from Booker T. Washington in 1975, Monte embarked on a new chapter in Houston, Texas, where his journey connected with the warmth of family. Living with his Aunt Lois, Monte worked and began to build his future. Later, he nurtured his growing family, welcoming his daughter Crystal into the world, followed by Brittany and Bentley. Monte's career path was diverse, touching lives through his work at WKM, USPS, and Super Shuttle, until his retirement.
Through it all, Monte remained a loyal supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, proudly donning their iconic blue, which was also his favorite color. The color blue stimulates minds and is associated with feelings of trust, tranquility, confidence, loyalty, and intelligence. How fitting, as his loyalty to the team mirrored his steadfast devotion to family and friends, who valued his straightforward nature and constant reliability.
In the twilight of his journey, surrounded by those he loved most, Monte peacefully passed away on July 20, 2024. His final days were a testament to the bonds he held dear, his spirit finding comfort in the enduring love of family.
Monte leaves behind a legacy cherished by daughters, Crystal Washington (Kiev), Brittany Jackson; son, Bentley Jackson; siblings, Tracy Williams (Bennie Ray), Don Jackson, Spring Hudson, and Hollandia Jackson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who carry his memory forward.
Throughout his life's journey, Monte's faith, love for family, and passion for sports were constants, embodying the verse, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
