O. B. Sims, Jr. was born on June 15, 1947. He was the first of ten children born to O.B. Sims, Sr. and Flora Taylor Sims. He was lovingly referred to as Junior by family and friends.

He received his formal education through the Houston Independent School District.

Junior was baptized at an early age by Reverend Hoxie Perry at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Houston, TX. Before his passing, Junior was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Naples, TX under the guidance of Reverend B.R. Harmon.

Junior worked well with his hands and was an expert carpenter. He could build just about anything and loved renovating homes for friends and family.

Junior was preceded in death by his son, Tredjuous; father, O. B. Sims, Sr., three brothers Herbert Larry, Troy LaMarque, and Taylor. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother; Flora, sisters; Shirley (Walter), Gwendolyn and Carol; brothers; Wayne (Earline), John and Bernard and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends as far as Pittsburgh, Texas where he resided.
