Olivia Wright Jackson, a devoted resident of Houston, Texas, and a native of Mansfield, Louisiana, was born on May 29, 1941, to the late Junior Wright and Sally Mae Allen. She peacefully departed this life on her 84th birthday, May 29, 2025.

A woman of strength and grace, Olivia dedicated many years of faithful service to Houston Methodist Hospital before retiring. She was known for her tireless work ethic, her candid nature, and her unwavering devotion to her family, faith, and community.

Olivia was a baptized believer and a faithful, tithing member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Williams. Her spiritual life was a cornerstone of her identity, and she lived out her faith daily through love, generosity, and service.

Throughout her life, Olivia was a devoted mother, beloved sister, proud grandmother, caring aunt, loyal friend, and dependable neighbor. Her presence was a gift, and her words often direct and wise, left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior Wright and Sally Mae Allen, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents. Also preceded in death are her brothers Johnny Allen, Donald Allen and Leon Wright Sr along with her sisters Lillie Wright Dinkins and Betty Perry and two grandsons Kahendrick and Joseph Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving siblings: brother Robert Allen and sister Anita Allen. She is also survived by her children: Betty and Jesse Bingham, Shirley Jackson, Joyce and David Powell, Alisia Dorsey, Beverly Jackson, Sharon Jackson, Maybell Jackson, Royce and Pamela Jackson, and West and Deborah Jackson. Her legacy continues through her 24 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will carry her spirit forward with love.
