CELEBRATING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF

PATRICIA MAE JONES

Patricia Mae Jones was born on October 11, 1955, in Houston, Texas to the late Ernest and Pinkie Jones. From an early age, Patricia exuded a gentle warmth, keen intelligence, and steadfast faith, embodying a vibrant spirit and a kind heart that brought joy to those around her.

She began her Christian journey on July 10, 1983, under the leadership of Pastor Rugley Monroe Jr, at El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Under Pastor Monroe's faithful leadership, she grew deeply in her faith, developing a strong spiritual foundation that shaped her life of service and devotion. She served diligently on the mission board, usher board, attended Bible Study regularly and taught Sunday School. Through her teaching and service, she inspired others and left a lasting mark on her congregation.

Patricia proudly graduated from Evan Edward Worthing High School and continued her education at South Western Business College, where she earned an Associate Degree in Business. Her career began at Gordon's Jewelry Store, followed by a dedicated 36-year tenure at the U.S. Postal Service, where she served faithfully until her retirement.

Patricia's heart was deeply anchored in her family. She cherished her role as a mother to her sons, Michael Jermaine Jones, and Reginald Van Jones, and was a guiding presence to her nieces, Shunda Hamilton, and Sonia Jones, whom she lovingly raised alongside her sister, JoAnn Hill. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, impacting everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Pinkie Jones; her brothers, Harry Marshall, Marvin Jones, Sr., and Arsheal Jones; as well as three sisters, Cora Jones, Mattie Baylor, and Ernestine Martin. Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Michael Jermaine Jones and Reginald Van Jones; her sister, JoAnn Hill (Allen); her nieces, Shunda Hamilton (Benny), Sonia Jones, and Katrina Hartwell; her nephews, Allen Hill, Jr. and Samuel Jones; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and cherished friends.

Patricia leaves behind a legacy of service, leadership, compassion, and love. Her light continues to shine brightly in the lives of all who were touched by her kindness, her wisdom, and her enduring faith.
