Paula Ann (Darrington) Hornsby

On this joyous day of August 17, 1949, Herman Darrington Sr. and Annie Bell Darrington were blessed by the birth of their eldest daughter Paula Ann Darrington. Affectionately known as “Towie” by family and friends. She attended the Houston are schools including Ryan middle school and Evan E. Worthing High School. After completing high school, she enrolled in Franklin Beauty School where she cultivated her skills in cosmetology. Paula later worked for Houston Medical Center as the supervisor for over 20 years. After leaving TMC, she then started her career TarryTown Estates where she was promoted to Project Director. After retiring, she then became more involved in church and became a member of East Sunnyside Church of God of Prophecy. Paula loved traveling, thrifting, shopping and cooking big meals for her family. Paula was selfless and loving without looking for anything in return, a true matriarch of our family. Leaving a legacy of love and compassion, her spirit will live through all that knew and loved her. She passed peacefully, at home, Sunday, August 9, 2026.

To my children: Always remember that you 3 meant more than life to me and you showed me what the word Love really meant and keep our family lore for each other dear and close to your heart because we’ll always have each other.
