Priscilla Lane (Davison) Powell

Ms. Priscilla Davison Powell, endearingly known as “Prissy”, was born in Houston, Texas, to Florence Ophelia and George Clinton Davison on October 12, 1950. She graduated from Evan Edward Worthing High School in 1968 and continued her education at Southwestern Business University in Houston, Texas, where she earned certifications in typewriting and data entry. She later applied these skills at Air Liquide and, ultimately, at Baylor College of Medicine, where she served with distinction as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Neonatology until she retired in 2016.

Beyond her career, Priscilla accepted Christ and united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend M. V. Fletcher, where she attended Sunday School and faithfully served on the Usher Board and the Pastor’s Aide Committee.

Priscilla and Don Ray Powell shared a marriage for 29 years that brought forth their daughter, Ashley Dawn. She enjoyed shopping, trying various recipes, baking, playing cards, and fellowshipping with friends and family.

Priscilla was a woman of remarkable warmth and genuine kindness, known for her caring spirit, steady reliability, and the sincerity that defined every relationship she touched. Her gentle presence, compassionate heart, unwavering dependability, and unmistakably authentic nature enriched the lives of all who had the blessing of knowing her.

She went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Ophelia and George Clinton Davison; brother, Roy Eugene Davison; godmother, Annie Marie Harris; lifelong sister‑friends, Linda D. Banks, Daisey Hubert, and Opal Rayford.

She leaves behind a family who will forever hold her memory in their hearts, including her one and only daughter, Dr. Ashley Dawn Powell, whose deep devotion and loving care were constants in her life, and her husband, Thomas E. Watts, Jr.; her heart was especially warmed by her beloved canine grandbaby, Devin; one niece, Royce E. Davison; one great-niece, Mari C. Davison; along with dear friends who held a sisterly place in her life, including Pamela K. Benoit, Janice Bush, Beverly J. Collins, LaToya Graves, Gloria Peavy, Gladys Pickett, Frances Stewart, Mary Taylor, and Gladys Williams; her God‑given brother, Clyde Collins; and her favorite cousin, Donald McGee, as well as many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched.

Though Priscilla’s earthly journey has ended, she is now absent from the body and present with the Lord, resting in the eternal peace promised in 2 Corinthians 5:8
