Raymond Gregory Tolbert was born on September 7th, 1960 to Beatrice and Lawrence Charles Tolbert in Houston, TX.  He was the middle child of their 3 children. Raymond grew up and made his mark in the 3rd Ward community, where many of his peers knew him as "Count".

Raymond attended school at the Contemporary Learning Center, and Jack Yates High School. While and after attending school, he expressed himself through his love for music by playing the guitar. He also found leisure in watching westerns, telling stories and jokes with family, and keeping up with the latest trends and current events.

Raymond is preceded in death by his father Lawrence Charles Tolbert and mother Beatrice Tolbert. He is survived by his sister Loyce Oliver, brother Michale Tolbert, Sr, his nieces Adriene Lupoe, Kimberly Jackson, Jazmyn Lupoe, Taylor Tolbert, his nephews James Oliver, Jr., Ken Oliver, Dominique Oliver, Michale Tolbert II, Thaddeus Tolbert, Lawrence Tolbert, and a host of other family members and friends.
