Reba Mae Watson, a devoted educator and beloved mother, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, in Missouri City, Texas, at the age of 90.

Born on June 30, 1934, in Hallsville, Texas, Reba Mae Jones grew up with a strong sense of purpose and an enduring commitment to education. She graduated from H. B. Pemberton High School in 1952. She later went on to earn an Associate of Arts degree from Houston Community College. Her academic journey continued at Texas Southern University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics—a field that would shape her professional life and reflect her personal passions.

Reba dedicated her career to teaching Home Economics at Lamar Fleming Middle School within the Houston Independent School District. Through her work, she influenced countless students by imparting practical skills and life lessons that extended far beyond the classroom. She retired in June 1999, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service to education.

A woman of deep faith, Reba was a longtime member of Windsor Village United Methodist Church. Her spiritual life was central to her identity; she was known as a God-fearing woman who lived with grace and conviction.

Reba found joy in family, travel, cooking, and sewing, interests that reflected both her creativity and her love for sharing meaningful experiences with others. Whether exploring new places or preparing meals for loved ones, she embraced life with warmth and generosity.

She cherished her family deeply and is lovingly remembered by her children: Belinda Marie Watson Williams, Rickey Arnold Watson, and Carol Lafaye Watson. Reba was preceded in death by her husband, William Watson Jr., whose memory remained close to her heart throughout her life.
