Born: Franklin, Louisiana

Rickey Paul Matthews was born to Cleaveland and Luella Matthews on March 19, 1959. He accepted Christ at a very early age and attended St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Four Corners, Louisiana.

He graduated from Franklin Senior High School in 1977 and after graduation he attended school for welding and became employed with Brown and Root and later Shell Refinery for over 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his father Cleveland Matthews, his mother Luella Matthews, his brother Clifton Matthews, his sister Laura Matthews and sister-in-law Barbara Matthews and sister-in-law Johnetta Matthews.

Left to cherish his memory: A devoted wife, Corliss Matthews and a devoted son Corey Matthews. Sister Vivian Melvin (Houston), Brother Earl Matthews (Alexandria, LA), brother Calvin Matthews his wife Dale (Four Corners, LA), Aunt Celestine Nico (Four Corners, LA). Two close friends Ronnie Page and Jesse Soto & a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors
