Roosevelt Lee, Sr., a handsome baby boy, was born on February 14, 1941, to Phillip and Alberta Lee. He was raised in Houston’s Clinton Park. The Family relocated to Galena Park, where Roosevelt attended and graduated from Fidelity Manor High School.
Bro. Lee’s early spiritual teachings were evident in his love for people and his family. Roosevelt married the love of his life, Josephine. They were married for 62 years. To this holy union, two children were born, Roosevelt, Jr. and Stella.
Roosevelt became a faithful member of Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church in 1981, under the leadership of Rev. Curtis W. Wallace. He was a member of Men’s Church School Class # 2 and Deacon Family Ministry #4. He loved his church and remained a dedicated member, under the leadership of Pastor Terry K. Anderson, until his passing.
Roosevelt retired from UPS after 22 years of service. He also worked with CARMAX for 10 years. His hobbies were fishing, sitting under the carport, watching television and he really, really loved going out to eat.
Bro. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Josephine Lee; Son, Roosevelt, Jr. (Tanya); Daughter, Stella Lee Hicks; Grandchildren: Lawrence J. Hicks (Imani), Lance J. Hicks (Yanina), Alexis J. Hicks, Robert Lee, Eric B. Lee (Joseph) Jonathan Frazier, and Anthony Thomas; Great-Grandchildren: Houston J. Johnson, Reign Hicks, Joshua Rivera, Maddox Hicks, Micah Hicks, Malachi Hicks, and Yanelis Rivera; loving family members: Etta Fay Lee, Melvin Shelton, Florence Hansley, Tarshya Smith, the Lewis Family, a host of nieces, nephews and his Lilly Grove Church Family.
