Obituary

Ruben George Davis, Sr. born September 7th 1932 to Leonard and Ruby Davis in Anderson County, Texas. He was the fourth child born, they called him " little brother" and "rambler". He attended Massey Lake High School, graduating in 1950. Upon completion of the 12th grade he joined Bethel Baptist Church where he was baptized at an early age.

Ruben later moved to Houston where he met the love of his life, Lola Mae Bolton. They were married a year later. After marriage he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he saw battle in the Korean War. During that time his first child was born Pamela Diane. Upon discharge from the Army Ruben and Lola moved to the Blueridge Addition. They had three more children, Ruben Jr., Paula and Renwick. He joined Blueridge Baptist Church upon its creation under the leadership of Rev. W.D. Richardson. He was a Deacon, Treasurer and overall caretaker for the Church.

He was employed by Canada Dry as a truck driver from 1955-1957. He was later employed by IBM from 1957-1991 as a business manager where he retired. He was the Coach of the Southeast Little League baseball team for three years, winning a state championship.

He was preceded in death by:

His Parents (Leonard and Ruby Davis), His Wife (Lola Mae Davis), His eldest Brother (Jack Davis), His younger Brother (Seminal Davis), His Granddaughter (Traneka Davis) , His Son (Ruben George Davis Jr.)  and His Great Niece (La'Chantel Montai Phillips), His Nephew (Laron Phillips), and His Cousin (Cleo Washington).

He leaves behind:

His Sister (Alzena Phillips), His Children (Pamela Baity, Paula Davis and Renwick Davis Sr.), His Grandchildren (Wrendric Baity, Marcus Baity, Brittany Davis, Renwick Davis Jr., Robin Halikias Davis, Amy Davis, Joshua Davis, Chanika Baity, Jocelyn Halikias Davis, Carissa Baity and Frank Herman Jr.) and His Great Grandchildren (Charly Baity, Zion Trey Jack and Journey Davis), His Son in Law (Charlie Baity) and Daughters in Law (Sharon Davis and Michelle Davis), His Niece and Nephew (Melda Phillips Mitchell, Kat Raven, Howard Phillips). Cousins (Celestine Palmer, Ingrid Palmer, Iris Palmer-Johnson) and Sugar Davis.

Ruben Leaves behind extended Family:

Hattie, Ruby, Robert, Ella, Elma Jean and Earnestine. Pam, Margarete, Regina, Vanessa, Deitra, Roberta Flood and host of nieces and nephews.
