Mrs. Shirley Ann Miller Jackson graced this world with her beautiful presence on May 10, 1951 under the care and love of her parents Henry Miller Jr. ( Deceased) and Carrie Miller as a part of that union Shirley was one of 5 Children; preceding her in death were her two beloved sisters Linda Slack and Sylvia Glover. Shirley leaves behind her two brothers Henry Miller III and Marlon Miller.

Shirley attended and graduated from Henry McNeal Turner High School in Atlanta, Georgia in 1969. From there, she went on to Morehouse College taking a few classes and ultimately graduating from the prestigious liberal arts all-women's HBCU, Spelman College also located in Atlanta in 1973. For those of you that did not know, Shirley was a wizard at Science and Math. Shirley met the love of her life, Chrisalourus Jackson Sr.  in 1973 at a party one evening in Endicott, New York. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married December 29, 1974. Shirley became an instant mom to Chris' two young boys, Zul-Tan and Ben-Toi. Chris Jr., better known as "Gus" came along years later.

From her beautiful children she has gained a "whole bunch" of beautiful grandchildren, eight to be exact:  Geneva & Khadeja Jackson Matteson (Illinois); Ty-Nice Jackson, (Waxahachie, Tx);  A'Layla Jackson (Dallas, Tx); Jasmine Johnson (Houston, Tx); Matthew Occhipinti (San Antonio, Tx); Dominque Hamilton (San Antonio, Tx); Zul-Tan Jackson II (San Antonio, Tx).

Shirley was such an incredible human being and in addition to her seven grandchildren she also had a granddog  who she assumed the responsibilities of "Gus" dog Yoda when he went to college. Yoda was Shirley's protector as he would follow her around inside and outside of the house, and if anyone got close to her, watch out! Shirley had so many friends who impacted her personal life and career; her prayer warriors at Hope Church Pearland,  where she served as the leader of the intercessory prayer ministry  impacted her the most!  At an early age, Shirley joined the Rising Star Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia where she served as the Secretary of Sunday School until she graduated Spelman College. Shirley also was and still is a proud member of Hope Church Pearland in Pearland, Texas where she was involved in so many activities spreading the word of GOD and fellowship. Shirley's first job out of college took her all the way to upstate Binghamton, New York where she worked for the Singer Corporation. After working there for many years and getting married to Chris, Shirley accepted a job in Houston, Texas as an Engineer/Contractor for the U.S. Government associated with the NASA Space Center Program in Houston, Texas for over many years before she retired in 2010. Shirley was a garden enthusiast! Her passion was the nurturing of her plants inside and outside of her home.

Mrs. Shirley Ann Miller Jackson will leave her three sons, Zul-Tan Jackson I (San Antonio, Tx); Ben-Toi Jackson (Dallas, Tx); Chrisalorus Jackson II (Austin, Tx) and her life partner Chrisalorus Jackson Sr to continue living out her life and legacy.  Mrs. Shirley Ann Miller Jackson was a teacher, leader, friend, advocate, mother, wife and a prayer warrior who will forever be missed.
