Sierra Leone
Reed
Nov 12, 2003 — Sep 5, 2024
Sierra Leone Reed was born on November 12, 2003 in Houston, Texas. She was the only daughter of both Korey Reed and Erika Carriere-Thibodeaux along with being the one and only doted granddaughter in both families. Sierra Leone's name is derived from the beautiful country in West Africa. She was endearingly nicknamed "CeCe" which so elegantly fit her witty, outgoing, adventurous, energetic personality. Fondly, she was dubbed "Biddy Bop", and later shortened to "Biddy" by her father.
Some of Sierra's fondest memories were of her school days. Sierra was educated and attended Lockhart Elementary School (an Honor Scholar, Spelling Bee Champ & Cheerleader), Nolan Ryan Middle School, and was a 2022 Graduate of Shadow Creek High School in Pearland, Texas. She continued her education at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
In 2004, Sierra was christened at Brentwood Baptist Church by Pastor Joe Samuel Ratliff dedicating Terrial Boston and Toni Harris as her loving Godparents. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, and on August 18, 2019, she was baptized at Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor L. David Punch.
Sierra was employed in the retail industry in which her first job was at Smoothie King, and lastly, she was a Lead Customer Service Associate at Walgreens. Sierra enjoyed her job as it allowed her to make many acquaintances while interacting with the public. She was held in high esteem by all of her managers and coworkers. She will leave a void and will be greatly missed by each of them alike.
Sierra was a one-of-a-kind young lady. She lived an incredible life andfilled her dash with unspeakable enjoyment. CeCe was confident, and full of determination. She had a passion and love for animals. She possessed a subtle humor, carefree personality and lighthearted smile. She also had a special love for fashion and glamour, and her favorite color was Baby Blue.
On May 23, 2024 at the Woman's Hospital of Texas, Sierra welcomed a tiny bundle of joy, a precious baby boy which she named, Kayson Darnel Reed. This was a special delivery of unconditional love, and she began creating a special bond with Baby Kayson and took on the task of motherhood with care. She gave him her love, and he gave her so much happiness. There could not be a more befitting scripture than 1 Samuel 1:27-28 KJV "For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him; therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there." May the Lord continue to bless, watch over, protect, guide and keep Baby Kayson throughout his life. We plead the Blood of Jesus over his young life.
Gone too Soon; On Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the tender age of 20 years old, Sierra Leone Reed completed her life's sojourn. Sierra lived a short but impactful life. We cannot always know why things happen but we can be assured that God is all knowing as we trust His plan. CeCe will forever be a treasured memory.
Sierra is preceded in death by her Paternal Grandfather, Bruce Allen Reed, which whom she shared the same date of birth, November 12th.
Sierra Leone Reed will forever be lovingly remembered and cherished by her beloved Son, Kayson D. Reed; a caring Father, Korey Reed; a loving Mother, Erika Carriere-Thibodeaux (Rev. Michael Thibodeaux); Siblings: Jonathan, Joshua, Courtlynn & Caleb; Doting Grandparents: Paternal Grandmother, Beverly Smith Holmes; Maternal Grandmother, Linda Carriere; Maternal Grandfather, Frank Carriere I; Paternal Uncle Nicholas Holmes (Ashley) & Maternal Uncle Frank Carriere II (Leanene); a Paternal Aunt Chloe Ware (Jay); her Godparents; a host of Great Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, extended Family Members, a wide circle of Friends and Church family.
She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her especially by her loving family.
