Obituary

In jubilation, gratitude, and enduring love, we gather to celebrate the life of Terrance Ray ("Ankle") Nelson, who was born on March 7, 1964, in Houston, TX.

Terrance entered eternal rest on December 8, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Tonya Marie,

two brothers, Andrew and Patrick and his beloved son, Terrance, Jr.

Terrance embraced Catholicism during his earlier years of spirituality.  As he grew older, he eventually became a member of "The Lighthouse" under the leadership of Rev. Keion Henderson.  Several years ago, he began visiting Blueridge with his wife's family. He finally decided that Blueridge was where he needed to be and became a member.

Terrance grew up in the Rosewood / Trinity Garden area.  Growing up in this area he was educated within the Houston Independent School District (HISD), attending Chatham Elementary, Terrell Jr. High, and the illustrious Kashmere High School.

His major work force employment began at Sysco Corporation, and he retired after 20+ years. He then came out of retirement and accepted employment with AAA Cooper Transportation. Terrance worked with AAA Cooper Transportation until his health declined several months ago.

Terrance's love for basketball was a lifelong passion.  He loved his weekly Saturday morning pick-up games with the fellas and their "Man Talk" outings afterwards at Boudreaux's.

Terrance is survived by his loving wife, Jacquel, brothers, Anthony, and Joseph, 4 daughters, Ashley, Yvette, Kyndahl, and Aaliyah (Derick).  3 Unexpected blessings, Nicquel, Jarek, and Darrell. Cherished grandchildren, E'lasia, Lei'lahni, and Kaylei'.  Beloved nieces, Chasy and Kiasha along with beloved nephews and other relatives and friends.
