Terry James
Clark Sr
Apr 16, 1966 — Oct 15, 2025
On April 16, 1966, a beautiful baby boy was born to Essie B. Clark Davison and Bill Ray Clark in Houston, Texas. They named him Terry James Clark, the youngest of five children.
Terry attended school in Northeast Houston, where he excelled both academically and athletically. A proud graduate of Forest Brook High School, Class of 1984, Terry shined on the football field and in the classroom. His dedication, drive, and determination earned him a full scholarship to Fresno State University. Terry conquered every challenge placed before him with strength, courage, and confidence.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Mt. Nebo Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor G. Burks. He later united with Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.W. Ross, and he remained a faithful member under Rev. Dwayne Qualls Sr.
Terry worked in many capacities throughout his life, most notably with the Houston Independent School District (HISD) and at Homestead Tire Shop—and if you let him tell it, he ran the place!
Terry was truly the life of the party. He lit up every room he entered and brought joy and laughter wherever he went. His personality was magnetic—he had a way of making everyone feel like family. Terry was everyone's favorite person, always ready for a good time, a good laugh, and a good story.
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Terry James Clark Sr. folded up his earthly tent and transitioned from labor to reward.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie B. Davison, stepfather, William Davison, father, Bill Ray Clark, sister, Trinetta Clark Braxton, and nephew Thearon Clark
He leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories:
Two sons, Darriel D. Clark and Terry J. Clark Jr.; one granddaughter, Blayre K. Clark; two brothers, Ira Craig Clark and Theadus Clark; sisters, Vilettie Clark, Vivian Ravenell; one stepsister Genise (Ray) Ryans; one stepbrother, Paul Davison (Cynthia); god-sister Geraldine Qualls (Dwayne); god-brother Derrick Scott; nieces and nephews Vilethea Clark, Breanna Clark, Coesha Davison, Sharay Williams, Rhonda Ryans, Geneva Elder, Jarvis Clark, Devonzic Clark, Thealon Clark, Samuel Clark, Toni Clark, Jamel Braxton, Erik Braxton, Demon Braxton, Davon Braxton, Paul Davison Jr., and Ray Ryans Jr.
He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever remember his laughter, kindness, and larger-than-life spirit.
Terry's journey reminds us that life is not measured by the number of years, but by the love, joy, and light we leave behind. Though his voice has grown silent, his laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
