It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Theresa Johnson on September 24, 2026. Born on February 2, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, Theresa was a beacon of love, resilience, and wisdom. Her life, though marked by a courageous battle with illness, was a testament to strength and perseverance. Her spirit never waned, and the love she shared remains a guiding light for all who were blessed to know her.

Theresa was the cherished daughter of the late Nathaniel McClendon and Memorie Houston. She was predeceased by her parents, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms in her heavenly home. Theresa was the beloved wife of Thomas Johnson Sr., with whom she shared 27 beautiful years of marriage. Their union, celebrated on December 16, 1994, in Defiance, Ohio, was filled with laughter, love, and the joy of raising a family together.

Theresa gave her life to Christ at the age of 14, beginning a lifelong journey of faith. In 2014, Theresa joined Corinth Missionary Baptist Church under the administration of A. Louis Patterson Jr., where she enjoyed worship, fellowship, and growing in the Word. She remained and continued the journey under the current administration of Pastor Alan Lamar Patterson actively connected through the Sensational Seniors, Wednesday in the Word, and Sunday online ministry.

Theresa also knew how to enjoy life! She loved skating, bowling, playing Spades and other card games, and spending time with family and friends. She was also known for her financial knowledge and expertise and was always willing to share her wisdom with others. Theresa’s faith, joyful spirit, laughter, and love for those around her will forever be cherished.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth cherished by her surviving children: Terrance and Timothy Johnson, Thomas Johnson Jr., Michael Pierson, Emric Johnson, Mario Johnson Sr., Angela Garth, Trudie Lindsey, Rhonda Brown, Lori Hall, Warletta Brookins, Towneer Gates, and Latricia Carter.
