Unita Williams, born on July 12, 1930, in Carriacou, Grenada is the 7th oldest of 12 children to the late Elizabeth Roberts Cato and Richardson Cato.
In 1955 Unita migrates to Trinidad & Tobago for a more productive and peaceful life where she met and married Clyde Williams in 1957 and began to build their family. In 1971, Clyde, Unita and their children relocated to Brooklyn, New York. They enjoyed a happy life together for 37 years until Clyde's homegoing in 1993.
For 30+ years, Unita worked in the Healthcare Industry retiring happily in Richmond Texas in 1995. Her life and passion were dedicated to helping and caring for people. She knew not one stranger and never allowed anyone to go hungry. Her love for her children and family was beyond what most people receive in a lifetime. She was a strong wife, dedicated mother, loving daughter, sister, niece, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. Her sassy sweet persona infected all those who assisted in caring for her. She was deeply loved by so many who were blessed to have met, learn and listen to her words of wisdom. On the day of her sunset, taking her last breath, she was surrounded by her 3 amazing loving and loyal daughters.
Unita is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Williams, her parents, 10 sisters and 2 of her sons, Edwin & Bernard Williams. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Ann Yvette Cato, Kathleen & Angela Williams and 1 son, Anthony Williams. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 8+ great grandchildren.
Unita Cato Williams was the matriarch of the Williams family and lived a phenomenal 93 great years on Earth. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
