Vincent Anthony
Davis
Aug 16, 1963 — Apr 29, 2025
Vincent Anthony (Tony) Davis was born on August 16,1963 in New Haven, Connecticut to Ms. Loretta Davis. Much of his childhood was lived under the guidance of his grandparents who loved him dearly. They took pride in spoiling him as each trip to the grocery store was accompanied by a new toy for their little Tony.
At the age of 11, Vincent moved to Waco, Texas, where he lived until he graduated high school. Vincent graduated from Waco High School, where he ran track and was nicknamed "Rabbit" due to his ability to sprint faster than all of his peers. After graduating, he ventured out on his own and set roots in Houston, Texas. It was here that he met his wife, Bertha Lattimore, who had also moved to Houston from a small town in Alabama to explore the big city. They began a courtship that progressed to marriage just 6 months after meeting and would last 38 years. This union brought the birth of his two daughters.
Vincent took pride in providing for his family, leading him to have a long career in Routes Sales and Operational Management, working with multiple companies like Mrs. Baird's Bread, Standard Coffee, Odwalla, and Red Bull. His work ethic and passion led to a fruitful career and many lasting friendships.
To know Vincent was to understand and experience his passion for music and comedy. Vincent was an avid concert and show goer as well as a dedicated collector of albums. He shared that passion with anyone he could by including those he loved in the outings or giving away tickets. Vincent's enthusiasm led to many personalized meetings with artists like The Temptations, J. Anthony Brown, Jeffery Osbourne, Maysa, and Rushion McDonald. His passion ran so deep that KTSU 90.9 FM recognized him as their '20 Year Archivist.
Vincent was a very active member of South Union Church of Christ where he was one of the radio hosts of the Simple Truth broadcast on KCOH, Co-chair of the Baptism Committee. He also volunteered his time with many other ministries like Men's Bonding, Finance, and the beautification of the church grounds. He recently started the Healing Hearts, a ministry dedicated to curating a supporting community for those who are going through their cancer journey as well as the caregivers that support them. Vincent was always willing to participate in services as he could often be seen leading morning prayer, church announcements, supporting communion, or baptizing new souls.
Vincent lived life emitting love, passion and unmatched zeal for those he loved. He could be seen doing magic tricks for the church youth or telling a joke to friends and strangers alike; he never missed a moment to shine. He took immense pride in his aesthetics, as looking sharp was his way of life and he took no days off. Vincent amassed an esteemed suit collection that he boldly wore and loved sharing tips and tricks with the men around him. His collection of meticulously curated suits were also displayed center stage as he was an involved member of Forty Plus Models, Inc. where he proudly walked many stages and events.
Vincent Anthony Davis is honored in memory by his wife of 38 years, Bertha Davis; daughters, Brandi Davis and Kimberly Davis and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and an innumerable number of friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Davis and grandparents, Roy and Midge Davis.
