Walter Bernard
King
Feb 7, 1964 — Nov 11, 2025
Walter Bernard King is the firstborn child to parents Mrs. and Mrs. Walter and Bettye King. He was born on February 7, 1964, in Livingston, Texas.
Walter attended Houston ISD schools. In preparation for employment, he completed training in various trades. Through the years, his resume included certified custodial technician, welder, maintenance supervisor, truck rigger, and machine operator.
His family referred to him by his middle name, "Bernard." He will be remembered as a gentle soul who found joy in simple things. He loved tending to his garden, nurturing each plant with the same care he showed the people in his life. Known for his giving spirit, he was always ready to lend a hand, share a smile, or offer what he had to help someone else. He had a heart that overflowed with love for his family.
In his quiet moments, Bernard enjoyed painting. He created pieces that reflected his creative nature and his appreciation for beauty. His kindness and gentle presence will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Bernard's father, Walter H. King, preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother; Bettye King, two sisters; Rhonda King and Eunice Terry (Cortez), one niece: Shkela King, two nephews; Camden Terry and J. 'Carter' Wiseman, IV, two aunts; Charles Etta Osaw and Tilda Smith, one uncle; Eugene Osaw, a special cousin; Gracie Darden, and a vast number of cousins in the King, Osaw, and Hardaway families.
