Wanda Lou Tyler Glover was born in La Porte, Texas on January 11, 1952 to Walter William Tyler and Wille Mae Tyler. Wanda gave her life to Christ around the tender age of 7 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She matriculated through the La Porte Independent School district, graduating from La Porte High School in 1970. Wanda continued her education at Texas Southern University.

Before graduating, Wanda relocated to Forest Park, Illinois in 1975 and started her family with Andrew Glover. In 1980 she returned to Houston. Wanda resumed her studies and worked while doing so. In 1988, she graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. Wanda became a Certified Laboratory Scientist in 1994.

Throughout her career she worked at M.D. Anderson Cancer, Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital and Texas Children's Hospital. Wanda retired from Texas Children's Hospital after 13 years of service.

In her younger years, Wanda was known for her stylish wardrobe and big afro. However, her infectious smile and dynamic personality proved to be everlasting. She was the life of the party and brought excitement to any and every occasion. Wanda's quick wit and humor was unmatched.

Wanda is survived by her children, Deirdre Glover (Sedrick), Malkia Glover Hudson (Tony), Jamila Glover-Hurd (Rudolph) and Jamal Glover; her 5 grandchildren Darrius Wiley, Jacob Wiley, Kaylah Moore, Kalen Zachary Moore and Kaleb Zane Moore; 5 great grandchildren; siblings Etta Mae Henderson, Gloria Sadri, Walter Tyler, Jr., Adolph Tyler and Yvonne Tyler, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
