William Nelms Sr was born in Navasota, TX on July 22, 1943 to Ruth Moore and Ollie Nelms, He was the only kid they had, but he was the oldest of 8 kids by his mother. He attended public schools in Navasota, TX. He found Christ at a young age.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Myrtle Nelms and both parents Ruth Moore and Ollie Nelms. He is also preceded in death by 3 children; 2 boys, Alvin Nelms and one baby boy at birth; 1 girl a baby girl at birth. Daughter in Law. Linda Nelms.

He moved to Houston in 1962 and began a 35 year career with Mickie Service. He married Myrtle Louise Pratton on April 16, 1979. God called her home on November 13, 2015.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa Nelms, 3 sons; James Nelms, William Nelms Jr and Douglas Nelms (Sandra) 5 step-children, 4 daughters Annie Ethel, Mae Helen Sutton, Brenda Mable, Dorothy Powell (William), son Sammy Pratt (Diane); 4 sisters, Lillie Sauls, Mary Moore of Navasota, TX, Mae Perro of Houston, TX and Laura Lewis of Baytown, TX; three brothers, John Davis of Navasota, TX Tommie Moore of Sugar Land, TX and Kenneth Moore of Baytown, TX; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren also he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
